The term “Lollipop” is derived from the shape of incisions made in order to lift breasts up.  Incisions are made around the areola and also vertically from the bottom of the areola to the bottom of the breast giving the appearance of a lollipop.  These incisions are necessary to bring the breasts up to their ideal location.

How is Breast Lift Surgery performed?

Do I need Breast Implants as well?

Generally yes; if there is enough breast tissue then Breast Lift alone might suffice.  However, in most cases breast implants are needed to create fuller and youthful looking breasts, especially if a cleavage is desired.

Will the scars fade?

In most instances fair-skinned patients fair much better as far as scars are concerned, while darker-skinned patients may form keloids or dark-colored scars.  Usually patients already are aware as to how they heal by their previous injuries or scratches.

What is the recovery like from Breast Lift surgery?

The recovery from Breast Lift Surgery is very much like from Breast Augmentation.  The pain is usually moderate, and with prescription pain medications patients do tolerate it very well.  Most patients can go back to their routine in less than a week and are back to work in about a week.  Mild exercise can resume in 10 days.  Swelling should subside in a couple of weeks, and Incision lines will continue to flatten and fade for up to 1 year.
