Breast Lift

Breast Lift Surgery is also known as a “Lollipop” Lift.  After having babies or having lost a lot of weight or  just simply from aging, the breast loses it volume and they droop.  The Breast Lift surgery rejuvenates the breasts by making them fuller and repositioning them higher where they once were.  Dr. Gregory Diehl also performs Breast Augmentations with Breast Lifts on women to have once again their fuller, firmer and youthful looking breasts.
At your complimentary consultation Dr. Gregory Diehl, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in Port Jefferson Station, Long Island, New York, will discuss all aspects of Breast Lift surgery with you. Dr. Diehl will also determine whether you are a good candidate for the Breast Lift surgery.
Also known as Mastopexy, Breast Lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. Sometimes the areola becomes enlarged over time, and a Breast Lift will reduce this as well.

Breast Lift or Breast Enlargement is a very popular procedure for women, and is among the most commonly performed breast enhancement cosmetic surgery procedures by Dr. Gregory Diehl. Breast Lift/Breast Augmentation can increase fullness and projection of your breasts and improve the balance of your figure, which will enhance your self-image and self confidence, especially here on Long Island where beach activities are quite popular.  Breast size and shape are important to many women.  If you are unhappy with your breast size or shape, you might consider Breast Augmentation and Breast Lift Surgery.

Can my breasts be fuller and "up" where they used to be from just a breast augmentation?

Unfortunately no, however with both Breast Lift and Breast Augmentation your breasts can be fuller and lifted up and as a result, they will look more youthful.

Why is it called a “Lollipop” Lift?

The term “Lollipop” is derived from the shape of incisions made in order to lift breasts up.  Incisions are made around the areola and also vertically from the bottom of the areola to the bottom of the breast giving the appearance of a lollipop.  These incisions are necessary to bring the breasts up to their ideal location.

How is Breast Lift Surgery performed?

Breast Lift Surgery raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour.  Dr. Diehl will surgically raise the nipple and tighten the breast tissue.

Do I need Breast Implants as well?

Generally yes; if there is enough breast tissue then Breast Lift alone might suffice.  However, in most cases breast implants are needed to create fuller and youthful looking breasts, especially if a cleavage is desired.

Will the scars fade?

In most instances fair-skinned patients fair much better as far as scars are concerned, while darker-skinned patients may form keloids or dark-colored scars.  Usually patients already are aware as to how they heal by their previous injuries or scratches.

What is the recovery like from Breast Lift surgery?

The recovery from Breast Lift Surgery is very much like from Breast Augmentation.  The pain is usually moderate, and with prescription pain medications patients do tolerate it very well.  Most patients can go back to their routine in less than a week and are back to work in about a week.  Mild exercise can resume in 10 days.  Swelling should subside in a couple of weeks, and Incision lines will continue to flatten and fade for up to 1 year.

How do I choose the right surgeon?

It is very important to choose a surgeon who is experienced in Breast Lift surgery and has been Board Certified in Plastic Surgery.  You should view his before and after photos as well.  Dr. Gregory Diehl, a Board Certified Plastic surgeon, in Port Jefferson Station, Suffolk County, has been performing Breast Lift/”Lollipop” Lift and Breast Augmentation on long island for over 18 years, fulfilling many women's desires for fuller, firmer and younger looking breasts.

Ask us about our Therapon® products for your skin needs:

Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Fine lines and wrinkles are caused by the normal aging process, smoking, sun exposure and a number of other catalysts. As we age, skin loses elasticity and collagen thins, resulting in wrinkles and loose skin. New collagen production and antioxidant protection are essential in reducing skin wrinkling, as is protection from UVA/UVB exposure.

Skin care with healing properties and antioxidants should be incorporated into a daily regimen. Products with active growth peptides and micronutrients should be regularly applied to restore skin elasticity and stimulate collagen production. Additionally, you should always rely upon an effective sunscreen.

Acne Breakouts
Breakouts occur when oil deep within small hair follicles or pores becomes waxy and clogs pores. To manage acne, first ensure your skin is clean and well-exfoliated. Second, eliminate bacteria which may inflame and infect pores. Products that effectively eradicate bacteria and exfoliate dead skin cells should be used. Benzoyl Peroxide, a popular ingredient in acne products, is only mildly effective at eradicating bacteria and is irritating in higher concentrations. Topical antibiotics lead to resistant strains of bacteria. Thus, antimicrobial cleansers that kill on contact are a preferred option.

Hyperpigmentation (Brown Spots)
Hyperpigmentation, commonly experienced as brown spots, is caused by UV light exposure which stimulates the melanin pigment production and forms brown spots. While there is no known cause, heredity appears to play a significant role. Other triggers include sun exposure, skin irritation, pregnancy, and certain medications, including birth control pills and hormone therapy. Once brown spots have appeared, avoiding triggers such as sun exposure and treating the skin with skin lighteners combined with accelerated exfoliation is effective.

Rosacea
Rosacea (Acne Rosacea) is a condition characterized by red flushing, inflammation, small pimple breakouts, and in more severe cases a bulbous nose with thickened, oily skin. All cases are associated with early and persistent flushing in the face. Avoidance of triggers such as caffeine, sun exposure, alcohol and hot/spicy foods minimizes flushing and breakouts. Additionally, products with soothing properties will help to soothe irritated skin.

Dark Under-Eye Circles
The skin under the eye is delicate with few oil glands. It is thin and somewhat translucent, revealing capillaries beneath the surface which generate the appearance of dark circles. Factors such as heredity, illness, allergies, fatigue and aging contribute to their severity. As we age, dark circles become more apparent as collagen in the skin breaks down, resulting in thinner skin. While there is no nonsurgical, permanent solution, the appearance of dark circles can be managed by getting plenty of sleep, avoiding cigarettes, reducing alcohol and caffeine consumption, and taking special care of under-eye skin. Light, non-oily moisturizers that contain growth peptides (soluble keratin peptides) will effectively stimulate collagen production to restore skin thickness and elasticity.

Puffy Eyes
Puffy, swollen eyes may be triggered by a number of factors. Fluid retention, lack of sleep, allergies, sleeping flat on your back (without pillow elevation), and even heredity affect the degree of puffiness throughout life. As we age, eyes tend to appear puffier as skin around the eye begins to sag due to skin laxity and weakening tissue. Reducing salt intake, getting plenty of rest, drinking water and avoiding allergens can help manage puffiness. To care for the skin under the eye, use a moisturizing crème that will hydrate without clogging pores and will stimulate collagen production with growth peptides (soluble keratin peptides) to strengthen skin tissue.

Liposuction Surgery

Liposuction, simply put, is taking out the unwanted fat in certain areas of the body.  The process is rather simple but the result is quite satisfying.  Most areas in the body can be treated with liposuction, though the most common areas in women are the abdomen, hips, and thighs.  Men are often treated for liposuction in the breasts, hips, and abdomen.  Liposuction is not limited to these areas, though other places may include the upper arms, under the chin and the buttock.  Liposuction is among most frequently performed surgeries by Dr. Gregory Diehl, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in Port Jefferson, Suffolk County, New York.  At your complimentary consultation, Dr. Gregory Diehl will discuss all aspects of Liposuction Surgery with you.  Dr. Diehl will also determine whether you are a good candidate for the Liposuction Surgery.

Liposuction is not a substitute for a healthy diet and exercise, but the procedure can eliminate areas of fat that are unresponsive to typical weight-loss methods, and improve body contour.  The best candidates for liposuction are normal-weight people who have isolated pockets of fat that do not respond well to diet or exercise.  Liposuction can be done at any age, but those with firm, elastic skin achieve the best results since elasticity lends itself to smoother contouring after the fat removal.  Liposuction improves the balance of your figure, which will enhance your self-image and self confidence, especially here on Long Island where beach activities are quite popular.

Do the results of Liposuction last?

Liposuction results are long lasting, as long as the patient maintains a healthy life-style, including exercise and a sensible diet.  Once the fat cells have been removed from an area there is no longer a preferential fat storage area and any fat gain will be distributed more evenly over the rest of the body.

How is Liposuction Surgery performed?

Liposuction involves the insertion of a hollow tube, or cannula, through a tiny incision into the layers of fat that lie deep beneath the skin.  The cannula is connected to a suction device that literally vacuums the fat out as the surgeon breaks up the cells with a push/pull motion.

Does Liposuction leave scars?

Liposuction scars are minimal and will not be noticeable as incisions made during Liposuction Surgery are generally very small and put in areas that are more inconspicuous.  Most scars from Liposuction Surgery will heal well and will be difficult to detect.

What kind of recovery can I expect from Liposuction Surgery?

Liposuction recovery is quite brief; a few days of soreness and some bruising and swelling can be expected for about a week.   Usually patients can return to work in a couple of days and resume strenuous physical activity after two to three weeks.

How do I choose the right surgeon for MY Liposuction?

It is very important to choose a surgeon who is experienced in Liposuction Surgery and has been Board Certified in Plastic Surgery.  You should view his before and after photos as well.  Dr. Gregory Diehl, a Board Certified Plastic surgeon, in Port Jefferson, Suffolk County, has been performing Liposuction Surgeries on long island for over 18 years, fulfilling many patients' desires to have slimmer bodies.
